About John

John Fredericks is the former Chief Meteorologist for the NBC affiliate in Las Vegas, Nevada.  His broadcast career has spanned over 30 years and he was recently inducted into the Nevada Broadcasters’ Hall of Fame and was also recently named a recipient of the American Kennel Club’s Community Achievement Award for his public education efforts throughout the Las Vegas metropolitan area. 

He serves on the Board of Directors of the Nevada SPCA.   He is a four-time winner of the Electronic Media Awards “Best Local Weathercaster” and has been voted “Best Local Weathercaster” for three straight years and four of the last five by the readers of the Las Vegas Review Journal.  He lives with his new Labrador Retriever companion, “LJ” (Little Jordan) in Las Vegas.
