We
got an early start from Crescent City. (Dad realized
in horror that he forgot the camera/laptop cable in
the room in San Francisco. So, we had to postpone sending
stuff back until we could hopefully find a replacement
in Seattle. Fortunately, Dad's best friend, John Tutora...
yes the same guy who joined us for part of last year's
trip... called Dad on his Sprint wireless and told
him where we could find a Best Buy. Dad's friend used
to work for the FAA in Seattle and knows the area like
the back of his hand. Dad was able to get a replacement
cord and another compact flash memory card and we were
back in business!)
We made the Oregon state line around 2:35 while
making the winding trip through Grant's Pass. (Beautiful,
even at night.) We passed through Portland shortly
after sunrise. The Portland skyline is really cool.
I didn't realize there was so much water around the
city! Beautiful.
We arrived in Seattle just before noon. The city
was buzzing with activity and parking was tough.
The Seahawks had a home game against the Rams so
the whole area was jammed. We took some pictures
at Pike Place Market, the Elliott Bay harbor and,
of course... the Space Needle! (We'll catch pictures
of Pioneer Square and the Downtown Seattle skyline
Monday morning prior to our departure.)
Hey! If you come here to visit, stay at the Lake
Union Marriott! They are PET FRIENDLY!! Talk to you
tomorrow! Hope you're liking the pictures!
Fondly,
Jordan
