Summary:
Day 2 Began with a short walk from the Fisherman's
Wharf Marriott to Fisherman's Wharf... Home of the
fish market's, historic restaurants, world Famous
Pier 39 and, of course... a spectacular view of Alcatraz.
(When first spotted in the Bay, Alcatraz is simply
breathtaking.) We spent a few hours wandering around
Fisherman's Wharf, taking some amazing pictures.
We then went back to the hotel and checked out. (Dad
forgot the cable for the camera/laptop hook-up and
had to buy one in Seattle. Ooops!)
From the hotel we drove a few blocks to Ghiradelli
Square and then north to Golden Gate Park. The park
is HUGE and would take a least a full day to explore.
But, we only had a short while! Then, it was on to
the Vista Point for pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge
and San Francisco skyline. (We stopped on both the
south and north side of the bridge.) It's amazing
how nice people are to me!
After we crossed the GG Bridge we made our way north
on Hwy 101 up through the wine country and the beautiful
redwoods. As the trees cleared and the Pacific Ocean
came in view we had to stop and get a picture of
Redwood State Beach. Dad made it as far as Cresent
City (just south of the Oregon border) and we called
it a night!
Enjoy the pictures! They are truly wonderful! Talk
to you from Seattle!
Fondly,
Jordan
