Day Five:
Heading Back Home
We
left Cumberland, Maryland at 5:50AM under some
light rain. It was 71.6 degrees inside, 58.6
degrees outside. We finally arrived in Indianapolis,
Indiana at 1:00 PM central time. It's cloudy
outside.
We took I-68 east to I-79, then north to I-70
and we're back on the original plan. (I-68
just allows you to avoid the Pennsylvania Turnpike
and all it's stops and tolls.) Maryland, West
Virginia, Western Penn and Eastern Ohio are
very pretty. Lots of trees and rolling hills.
Western Ohio begins a more flatter topography
with lots of farm land. Still pretty, just
different.

The first photo is Dad gassing up in Morgantown,
Maryland. Notice the wet pavement and messy
state of Dad's car.
Second is Pennsylvania "Welcome".
This is the closest I'll ever get to Independence
Hall, I guess.
Next, it's almost heaven...West Virgina. (John
Denver) You re-enter West Virginia briefly
between Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Fourth picture is "Good B(ucke)ye, Ohio!

Finally,
Indiana. The nations's crossroads. So, do we
go north? South? I think southwest...hmm...
Anyway, I'll write again from somewhere deep
in the midwest!
Sincerely,
Jordan
