2002 Day Two:
Jordan's Road Trip Continued

Well, we left north Dallas, Texas, at 4:45 AM. The outside temperature is 59.9 degrees, and inside the car, a balmy 64.4 degrees. We departed under clear night skies (Dallas is beautiful at night!) The first picture is me on my way out of Dallas and the second picture is the beautiful east Texas sunrise. One word about east Texas...GREEN!

On the way to Memphis, we drive through Arkansas...specifically Hope, Arkansas, the birthplace of former President William Jefferson Clinton. The third picture is me on our way into Arkansas, and the fourth is me in front of the Hope sign. One word about Arkansas...TREES! Always remember, you gotta have hope...(Arkansas, that is...)

Dad and I arrived in east Memphis, Tennessee at about 3:05 PM Centralime, with the outside temperature being 78.5 degrees and inside the car, 72.3 degrees. I started singing..."Graceland, I'm goin' to Graceland." But then I realized that I'm already there!

The fifth picture is me in front of Elvis Presley Blvd. on Monday, September 23rd, the first day of fall! Yes, that's The KING's house right across the street! But after the long drive, I really had to GO! "Hey Dad!" I said. "That's a BIG lawn over there!"

The next picture is me in line for the tour of Graceland. I'm so excited, but there's a sign I can't read. It says...HEY! What do you mean, NO DOGS on the tour?!?!

In the last picture, that's Lisa Marie behind me. Well, the AIRPLANE, that is. (And no, they wouldn't let me on the plane, either.) Total milage for this leg of the trip, North Dallas to Memphis, via Little Rock, Arkansas, was 1966.1. We made approximately 520 miles on day 3. Check back in again later, as I'll be writing you from our nation's capitol!

Sincerely,

Jordan
